European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe including the French president charged Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, following the travel bans targeted individuals who have been central to campaigns to enact legislation governing US-based technology firms.
“For far too long, ideologues in Europe have spearheaded coordinated campaigns to pressure American platforms to suppress US perspectives they oppose,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “This government will no longer tolerate such actions of censorship beyond its borders.”
